Birth Companions Peterborough Doula Pilot Project

In 2013, Birth Companions joined with doulas and other local stakeholders in Peterborough to design and deliver a pilot project to provide support during the perinatal period to the most vulnerable women in the Peterborough community and local prison. The pilot project ran between January 2014 and March 2015.

This external evaluation of the pilot project was carried out through semi-structured interviews with women who had received support from the project, with doulas who delivered the support and with external stakeholders who were best placed to comment on the effectiveness of the support provided by the project.
